چکیده

Schwannomas are benign nerve sheath tumors that arise from Schwann cells, which responsible for producing the myelin surrounds nerves. They typically slow-growing and can occur in various locations body, including lumbar region of spine. We present a case giant invasive intradural extramedullary schwannoma managed with posterior interbody fusion (PLIF) laminectomy excellent results. A 58-year-old man presented lower back pain radiating to right leg six months. He had no history trauma or systemic disease. Lumbosacral magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed well-defined mass at L3-L4 level compressing root. The patient was L3-L4-L5 transpedicular fixation right-side resection tumor. Histopathological examination confirmed diagnosis schwannoma. favorable postoperative recovery experienced resolution symptoms. Lumbar schwannomas rare they cause significant symptoms require appropriate management. Microsurgery is preferred treatment, endoscopic microsurgery most promising technique.

Intradural Extramedullary Ependymoma at Lumbar (L1-L4 Level) Spine: A Suspicious Case and Literature Review

Ependymomas constitute 4-6% of primary central nervous system tumors. Spinal ependymomas are most frequently found in intramedullary region but few cases of intradural extramedullary ependymoma have also been reported. We report a 24-year-old male patient with a suspected case of intradural extramedullary ependymoma. Magnetic resonance images of the lumbar spine depicted an intradural mass from...
